The Baltimore Ravens have selected offensive tackle Alex Lewis out of Nebraska in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Baltimore has some nice pieces on the O-line in Marshal Yanda and Eugene Monroe, along with first-round pick Ronnie Stanley, so they can likely bring Lewis along slowly.
Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is coming off a torn ACL, so protecting him will be paramount.
Alex Lewis Bio
Position: OT
School: Nebraska
College Experience: Senior
Height: 6-6
Weight: 312 lbs.
Strengths
- Has an adequate frame for the position, with long arms and natural knee bend. Keeps his feet moving and underneath him at all times. (CBS Sports)
- Generally uses well-timed punch, with inside hand coming first. Understands his physical limitations and sets out on defensive ends quickly to counter. (NFL.com)
- Moves well for a taller blocker, and was one of the most consistent prospects on the West squad at the Shrine Game. (CBS Sports)
Weaknesses
- Served jail time for assault as a sophomore at Colorado. Transferred to Nebraska after losing his scholarship.
- Plodding feet limit him. Slow to step into angle blocks and has issues operating consistently on outside zone plays. Not quick enough to be counted on for reach blocks. (NFL.com)
- Has a lean lower body and can be put on his heels versus power. Can get clunky in his kick-slide. (CBS Sports)
