Jose Aldo spreads fake injury rumors in order to sniff out a 'rat'
Jose Aldo doesn't like a leaky ship
With supposedly baseless rumors about his relative fragility swirling in the lead-up to UFC 194 in December, the longtime featherweight overlord has resorted to spreading fake injury rumors around his gym in order to suss out potential rats.
"Every little thing we do in here, everyone talks about," Aldo told Combate, according to BloodyElbow.com's Lucas Rezende. "I was actually chill about it, but Andre Pederneiras was stressed out. I try not to care about what people say. It's actually good this happened, everything we do here in the gym, we hide. Sometimes I say I hurt something so guys can go and talk about it. That way we find out who the rat is. I try to remain relaxed and focused. That's what's important."
Conor McGregor will tell everyone and his brother that Aldo won't actually make it to their long-awaited showdown on Dec. 12, and former multiple-time UFC title-challenger Chael Sonnen says he has Brazilian sources telling him that Aldo isn't going to be there, so it's unsurprising that "Scarface" is a little paranoid about the whole situation.
