Alabama destroys Georgia in rain-soaked statement win

The talk since Alabama lost to Ole Miss two weeks ago has been about the supposed final hours of Nick Saban's Crimson Tide dynasty.

On Saturday, 'Bama dampened that narrative somewhat, hammering No. 8 Georgia 38-10 on the Bulldogs' rain-soaked home field. The victory will be sure to evoke memories of the 2008 "Blackout Game" between the two schools, when Alabama beat Georgia 41-30 in Athens in a battle of top-10 teams.

Here's what you need to know:

• After an uneventful first quarter where both teams traded field goals, Alabama opened it up in the second on a Derrick Henry 30-yard touchdown run, and a blocked punt recovery for a TD. 'Bama led 24-3 at halftime.
• Georgia coach Mark Richt opted to go with Brice Ramsey at quarterback over Greyson Lambert to start the second half, and the decision backfired instantly. Ramsey's first pass was a pick-six into the arms of Alabama's Eddie Jackson. Lambert replaced Ramsey again after the sophomore tossed twice as many interceptions (two) than completions (one).
• The Crimson Tide didn't let the extremely wet conditions bother them offensively, as they executed in the air and on the ground. Henry rushed for 148 yards on 26 carries, while quarterback Jake Coker was 11-of-16 for 190 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Calvin Ridley caught five balls for 120 yards and a score.
• The only highlight for Georgia was sophomore running back Nick Chubb, who tied Herschel Walker's school record with his 13th straight 100-yard rushing game. He finished with 20 carries for 146 yards and a touchdown.
• The Bulldogs turned the ball over four times, and will assuredly drop out of the top 10 in this week's rankings.
