Report: Zoran Dragic wants to return to Europe in search of consistent minutes

After a rocky transition to the NBA, swingman Zoran Dragic is looking to return to Europe in search of consistent minutes.

That's why Dragic's agents pushed for a release from the Boston Celtics, ESPN's Marc Stein reports. The 26-year-old failed to find anything close to a stable situation in the NBA.

After an impressive showing for the Slovenian national team at the 2014 FIBA World Cup, Dragic signed with his brother Goran Dragic's team, the Phoenix Suns. But the Suns were overstocked on the perimeter, and Dragic found himself the odd man out.

Both Dragic brothers were dealt to the Miami Heat at the trade deadline. Again, Zoran failed to find playing time and mostly toiled on the bench. In all, he played 75 minutes on the season.

This offseason, Dragic was traded to Boston for cap relief. He was subsequently waived on Monday.

Prior to last season, Dragic played for Unicaja Malaga in the Spanish League. He averaged 10.9 points and 2.7 rebounds on 41.3 percent shooting from the floor in his final season with Unicaja.
