No FIFA Women's World Cup triumph would be complete without a congratulatory phone call from the winning country's government.

Following its 5-2 win over Japan in the final, the U.S. women's national team received a phone call from none other than President Obama, who kicked off the conversation by telling manager Jill Ellis: "So I turn on the game and you guys kind of took the suspense out ... 10 minutes and then that's all she wrote."

Obama also asked Carli Lloyd, who scored a hat trick in the final: "What have you been eating?" And, of course, he extended an official invitation to the White House before hanging up.
