A vicious attack outside Dodger Stadium roughly four years ago left Bryan Stow, an ardent San Francisco Giants fan, addled with brain damage and paralysis.
Stow's senseless beating, however, couldn't diminish his love for baseball.
His passion for the game was apparent Thursday, when he threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the home opener for the Giants' minor-league affiliate in the High-A California League at San Jose Municipal Stadium.

“This has been really big for me,” Stow said of the honor. “Each pitch, practicing every single day is big and I’m making the most of it.”
