Marcus Mariota runs fastest 40-yard dash time (unofficial) for quarterbacks

Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota got off to a great start at the NFL Scouting Combine.

The former Oregon quarterback ran an unofficial 4.52 in the 40-yard dash, the fastest time out of any quarterback Saturday.

He sprinted to an unconfirmed 4.56 time in his second appearance. The league has yet to confirm the results officially. 

After a standout campaign at Oregon, where he threw 42 touchdowns against a mere four interceptions, Mariota is projected to be one of the top quarterbacks selected alongside Florida State's Jameis Winston, and may go first overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
