Patrick Eaves: (Concussion) Placed On IR
Eaves (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis:
The move to injured reserve ensures that Eaves will miss at least three games with the head injury. It would probably be wise to bet on a lengthier absence for the winger, who has an extensive concussion history. Like Eaves, Tyler Seguin (lower body) and Ales Hemsky (lower body) were also forced to exit Friday's win over the Panthers with injuries and have already been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Avalanche, leaving the team extremely depleted at forward. As a result, the Stars acted quickly to shuttle Eaves to IR, opening up a roster spot for AHL call-up Brett Ritchie.
