Talk of Chelsea becoming the next version of the invincibles came to an end after dropping three points at St James' Park on Saturday.

Papiss Cisse sent the Newcastle fans into a frenzy after capping off a scrappy play in the Chelsea box with a goal into the open net to double the host's lead.

A clever through ball between two Chelsea defenders saw Moussa Sissoko go into the box with only the 'keeper to beat, but a poor first touch almost killed the attack.

Sissoko, however, was able to get a foot on the ball as he fell to the ground, nudging the ball over to an open Cisse for the easy finish and his second goal of the game.

The joy around the Newcastle ground didn't last long, as Steven Taylor earned his second yellow card of the match after a cynical challenge and was promptly sent off the pitch.

Chelsea scored minutes later, courtesy of a Didier Drogba header, but the Londoners were unable to find an equaliser when the 90 minutes were through.

It was Chelsea's first loss of the season in all competitions and their third consecutive defeat at St James' Park.
