Dolphins' Grimes thinks his interception is more impressive than Beckham Jr.'s TD catch
New York Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had what many are calling the best catch of the season Sunday, but Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes thinks his one-handed interception from Week 10 is superior.
"It was a cool catch. I may be biased, I think mine was better," Grimes told James Walker of ESPN.com. "I jumped and everything. I was on defense. They weren't throwing me the ball. That was a great catch, though."
Grimes may have a case. As Walker notes, the pass thrown by Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was intended for Calvin Johnson, not Grimes. Giants quarterback Eli Manning, on the other hand, was clearly targeting Beckham.
"It was close," Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace said. "(Grimes) stole it, kind of like a thief. I don't know. I think it was close. I might have to give Odell the edge, but Brent is on my team. I don't know, man. They were both great catches."
