LeBrun: Oilers' MacTavish may have to put Eberle on the market to make trade
The Edmonton Oilers have been in the market for a proven center for many months, but no offer has yet swayed general manager Craig MacTavish to sign on the dotted line.
On Tuesday's edition of Insider Trading on TSN, Pierre LeBrun said the only way the Oilers would be able to get what they want out of a trade is to offer up forward Jordan Eberle.
"Until you put Jordan Eberle on the market - officially - you're not going to make the type of deal that's going to get the return that you're looking for, whether it's a top center or a top defenseman, etc."
LeBrun continued, "I'm not sure Craig MacTavish and the Oilers brass is ready to make that kind of move."
The 6-13-2 Oilers need some help, but their continuing search has come up dry time after time.
