Cardinals' Carson Palmer throws at practice, status remains unclear
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is making progress in his recovery from a nerve injury in his throwing shoulder.
Palmer was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, throwing during the team's open portion of work for the first time in two weeks, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss. He also reportedly threw 40-50 passes Tuesday without any setbacks.
How Palmer's arm responds to the increased workload should determine whether or not he practices fully Thursday and Friday, which will of course directly impact his availability for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins.
All indications suggest the nerve has significantly improved since Palmer suffered the injury in Week 1 against the San Diego Chargers, but the key will be avoiding any further setbacks.
"If he doesn't have any setbacks through the week, I think he's on his way," Palmer's physical therapist Greg Roskopf said. "I never know how well somebody's doing until they throw themselves into the fire. He left doing so much better."
