1976 - Seahawks play first ever preseason game
The expansion Seattle Seahawks take to the field for their first ever preseason game in front of a capacity crowd at the brand-new Kingdome.
The visiting San Francisco 49ers won the game 27-20, and the Seahawks finished the preseason 1-5 before posting a 2-12 record in their inaugural season.
At the time, no expansion team had ever won its first preseason game. The Seahawks trailed 24-0 in the second half, but stormed back to get within a touchdown late in the game. Quarterback Jim Zorn was tackled at the two-yard line as the final gun sounded, and the Seahawks fell just short.
2003 - Damon Allen becomes third professional QB to throw for 60,000 yards

Damon Allen of the Toronto Argonauts becomes only the third professional quarterback to throw for more than 60,000 yards.
Allen joined Warren Moon (who compiled his statistics in both the CFL and NFL) and Dan Marino as the only three to exceed the impressive margin. Since then, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and CFLer Anthony Calvillo have joined the exclusive group.
The brother of NFL Hall of Famer Marcus Allen, Damon Allen never played in the NFL, despite a 16th-place finish in Heisman Trophy voting in 1984. He joined the CFL in 1985 and played for six teams, including for the Memphis Mad Dogs in the CFL's brief foray into U.S. expansion.
Allen retired in 2008 with 72,381 passing yards to his name.
