Origi, 19, will be loaned back to French side Lille for the duration of the upcoming season, and will join the Reds for the 2015-16 campaign.
"I know it's a club with a great history, great fans and a lot of great players. For me, Liverpool is one of the greatest clubs in the world and I'm very excited to be part of this great history," the Belgian told the club's official website.
Origi, who scored one goal and impressed at the World Cup in Brazil with his mix of pace, power and skill on the ball, will be one of the players tasked with replacing the production lost with the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
While the team did not release the terms of the deal, it is reported by Ben Smith of the BBC that they paid a paltry fee for a player who looks capable of developing into a legitimate star in the years to come.
#LFC confirm the £10m signing of Divock Origi. He signs a five year deal and goes back to Lille on loan.
