Former Penn State quarterback Austin Whipple took to Twitter to announce his departure from Penn State.
After a lot of thought I've decided to transfer to UMass. Couldn't pass up the chance to play for my Dad at a school that I watched as a kid

A walk-on freshman with the Nittany Lions, Whipple will join his father, Mark, who was hired as UMass' head coach in January.
Whipple failed to see the field at State College, but will surely have a better opportunity with the Minutemen after sitting out next season due to NCAA transfer rules.
