The Philadelphia 76ers selected Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft on Thursday night.
As pure a point guard as they come, Micic boasts the vision and IQ that teams covet from their one. He's not your typical NBA athlete, and as such he'll struggle on the defensive end, but his size makes up for some of that deficiency on the offensive side. As a bench guard, teams can certainly do worse than the creative, team-first Micic, who should also be able to hit the NBA three regularly.
The chances of Micic coming to the NBA this season are almost zero. With this many picks in the draft, the Sixers need to stash one or two overseas, keeping them off the books and allowing them to develop a pipeline of young talent rather than dumping a ton of rookies onto a roster at once.
