The Chicago White Sox acquired outfielder Michael Taylor from Oakland on Saturday in exchange for minor league right-hander Jacob Sanchez, the team announced.
It's the third time Taylor has been traded despite appearing in just 26 career major league games. The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder has failed to live up to expectations since he was taken in the fifth round of the 2007 draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.
Taylor, 28, is hitting .243/.357/.385 with five home runs in 59 games at Triple-A this season. He will report to the White Sox Triple-A affiliate, the Charlotte Knights, the team said.
The 24-year-old Sanchez had 66 strikeouts in 61 innings with a 2.80 ERA in 15 games this season for Chicago's Class-A affiliate, Kannapolis.
