Army RB Maples granted extra year of eligibility
The Army Black Knights received some good news, as one of the key pieces of their offense will be back for one more year.
Confirmed: RB Raymond Maples returning for 5th year this fall. Maples ranks 6th in academy career rushing yards. #ArmyFootball

Maples played just three games last year due to a groin injury and was granted a medical hardship waiver because he played in less than 20 percent of Army's games. He rushed for 1,066 yards in 2011 and 1,215 yards in 2012 before the injury limited him to 123 yards last year.
Maples will look to join Mike Mayweather as the only players in Army history to rush for over 1,000 yards in three separate seasons. He, along with Terry Baggett who rushed for 1,113 yards in Maples' absence, should form a potent running back tandem for the Black Knights in 2014.
