Colts hire Rob Chudzinski as special assistant to the head coach
Former head coach of the Cleveland Browns, Rob Chudzinski has found a new home with the Indianapolis Colts.
Chudzinski, who was fired when the team went 4-12 in his only season as head coach, will act as a special assistant to Colts head coach Chuck Pagano.
The pair have worked together previously at the University of Miami from 1995-2000 and spent the 2004 season together coaching with the Browns.
“Rob and I have a long professional relationship and his résumé speaks for itself,” Pagano said in a statement issued by the team. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and will be a tremendous help to our entire team moving forward. Needless to say, we’re excited to have ‘Chud’ joining our family.”
Last season the Browns offense finished 11th in passing yards, their highest finish since 1991 and ninth in total defense, the highest mark since 1994.
Chudzinski had been linked to the Ravens offensive coordinator job before Gary Kubiak was hired at the end of January.
