Mikael Lindberg: Wins Turkish Airlines Open
Lindberg posted a 10--under cumulative score at the Turkish Airlines Open on the DP World Tour to win the tournament by two strokes over Daniel Rodrigues and Guido Migliozzi.
Analysis:
Lindberg opened the tournament strongly with a bogey-free, six-under 66 score in the first round. He stalled a bit over the next two days, going one-under across that span, but he posted one of the better scores of the final round with a three-under 69, which was impressive given the rainy conditions. Not only was it the first DP World Tour victory for Lindberg, but his win in Turkey also guaranteed his spot at the PGA Championship in two weeks time. Next week's Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship in Barcelona, Spain will serve as Lindberg's tune-up event before the second major of the season.
