Hill-Rountree headlining UFC Kansas City on April 26
A light heavyweight bout between Khalil Rountree and Jamahal Hill will headline UFC Kansas City on April 26, the UFC announced Wednesday.
Hill is coming off a third-round knockout loss to Jiri Prochazka in January. He lost a championship fight against Alex Pereira at UFC 300 last April, which marked his return from an Achilles injury. Hill was forced to vacate the light heavyweight title in January 2023 before ever defending it due to the injury.
Rountree's last fight was against Pereira in October. The 35-year-old lost in the fourth round by TKO after some early success.
Hill and Rountree were scheduled to face off at UFC 303, but Rountree dropped out after testing positive for a banned substance.
Other fights on the UFC Kansas City card include Abus Magomedov versus Michel Pereira, Giga Chikadze versus David Onama, Ikram Aliskerov versus Andre Muniz, and Anthony Smith in his retirement bout versus Mingyang Zhang.
