Tyreek apologizes to Dolphins for trade comments, wants to stay in Miami

Tyreek Hill publicly apologized to Tua Tagovailoa and the rest of his Miami Dolphins teammates for suggesting he wanted to leave the team.

"I'm taking full accountability for what I said," Hill told Pro Football Talk's Chris Simms on Friday. "I'm gonna come back next year. I wanna stay with the Dolphins."

"(Tua) understands my frustration. We all want to win. ... I'm looking forward to us continuing to build our relationship even more," Hill said on "Up & Adams" on Friday. "This is my public apology to you, Tua, I love you, bro."

Hill said he was "out" after the Dolphins dropped their regular-season finale against the New York Jets. This past season marked the first time in Hill's nine-year career that he missed the playoffs. He also sat out the fourth quarter against the Jets.

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said days later that the 30-year-old didn't ask to be traded. The wide receiver has two years left on his existing contract.

"(My teammates) know I'm not that kind of player," Hill said on "Up & Adams." "A lot of people may say, 'Oh, 'Reek is a hot head, he's this, he's that.' All my teammates know, I come to work every day, I bust my tail, I show up to meetings on time, and I do what I gotta do."

Hill had one of his least-productive seasons in 2024, posting 959 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He struggled with a wrist injury for the majority of the year but turned down midseason surgery in November.
