Wild's Fontaine scores first NHL goal in record fashion
If you're going to add your name to the score sheet for the first time, you may as well add it to the record books as well. At least, that's how Justin Fontaine decided to make his presence known to the NHL.
According to Minnesota Wild PR, Justin Fontaine broke the team record for fastest goal to start a game, as he scored on the Dallas Stars just 12 seconds after the puck dropped.
Fontaine's goal 12 seconds in tonight tops Dany Heatley's (13 seconds into 5-2 win vs. VAN 2/9/12) for fastest goal in #mnwild history

Not bad for your first ever NHL goal. The bar has been set.
