Ty Gibbs: Third in Shriners Children's 500

Gibbs finished third in the Shriners Children's 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Phoenix Raceway Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

The Joe Gibbs Racing youngster started on the outside pole and battled among the leaders early. Gibbs would lead 57 laps in the opening stage for finishing runner-up to conclude stage 1. He would fall back in the field a bit in the middle part of the race, but would climb back forward to battle for the win in the closing laps. Gibbs would hold off Brad Keselowski down the stretch to earn the strong third-place finish. The good start to the season continues for the No. 54 Toyota team.
