Chiefs fans show support for Burrow with donations to QB's charity
Chiefs Kingdom is rallying around Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in the wake of his season-ending wrist injury.
After it was announced Friday afternoon that Burrow suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist, Kansas City Chiefs fans began making donations to the Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund. The movement appears to have been inspired by a post on a Chiefs fan Facebook group, according to Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports.
Many of the donations were accompanied by messages of support for Burrow.
"It's no rivalry without you," one fan wrote. "Recover fast and well. See you in the AFC Championship Game in the 2024 season. Go Joe! Go Chiefs!"
"Chiefs Kingdom is hoping for a speedy recovery!" another message read. "Take care of yourself, Joe Burrow! And thank you for doing your part to help fight hunger!"
The Chiefs and Bengals will face each other for the first time this season on Dec. 31.
