Johnny Manziel is returning to his old College Station stomping grounds.

The former Texas A&M quarterback is part of an ownership group that will be opening a nightclub near the school's campus called Johnny Manziel's Money Bar, according to Alex Miller of The Eagle. The bar is expected to open in time for the Aggies' season opener against New Mexico on Sept. 2.

"Obviously, people called him 'Money Manziel' for his famous after-touchdown (celebration)," co-owner J.D. Ybanez told Miller. "I just thought it was a really cool name, and he loved it, and the theme itself was really cool. It works."

Manziel played two seasons at Texas A&M, becoming the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012. He ranks third in school history in both passing yards (7,820) and passing touchdowns (63).

The 30-year-old has been out of the NFL since the Cleveland Browns released him in 2016, two years after they drafted him 22nd overall. He most recently suited up for the Zappers of the Fan Controlled Football League.
