Ex-NBAer Scalabrine claims Beal, prospect Cooper Flagg had heated 1-on-1
Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal reportedly got into it with high school prospect Cooper Flagg during a recent game of one-on-one.
Former NBA big man Brian Scalabrine, who has worked with Flagg, shared a rumor about the 16-year-old exchanging words with Beal on SiriusXM NBA Radio's "The Starting Lineup" show Tuesday.
"I heard a rumor that my boy Cooper Flagg was at Jayson Tatum's camp and he was busting Brad Beal one-on-one, and Brad Beal got mad at him. Started cussing him out," Scalabrine said, according to Heavy.com's Sean Deveney.
"This dude is a major trash-talker. ... So I guess the rumor is that Brad Beal and him were squaring off 1-on-1 and Brad Beal was taking it lightly. It's a high school kid. Then Cooper started giving it to him. And I guess the rumor is, Cooper started talking trash and Bradley Beal got mad. Really mad."
Flagg and Beal were among those who attended Tatum's inaugural JT Elite Camp, which was held in St. Louis late last month.
Flagg, a 6-foot-8, 200-pound small forward out of Newport, Maine, is currently the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Class of 2025. He's received several offers from colleges including Duke, UConn, UCLA, and Michigan.
