Report: Dodgers interested in White Sox righty Giolito
It appears the Los Angeles Dodgers are turning to the south side of Chicago to help aid their starting rotation.
The Dodgers are interested in acquiring White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito, sources told MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
Los Angeles has had to navigate numerous injury absences to starting pitchers, including Julio Urias, Clayton Kershaw, Dustin May, Walker Buehler, and Noah Syndergaard.
May is set to undergo season-ending elbow surgery July 18. Kershaw, meanwhile, was placed on the injured list in early July with inflammation in his left shoulder.
Giolito is likely to be one of the top pitchers available ahead of the Aug. 1 trade deadline. The 28-year-old is enjoying a solid season for the White Sox, posting a 6-5 record with a 3.45 ERA and 9.37 K/9 in 112 1/3 innings pitched.
Giolito grew up in Santa Monica, California. The one-time All-Star owns a lifetime 59-52 record with a 4.22 ERA and 9.46 K/9 in his eight-year career.
