The Washington Wizards will work with All-Star Bradley Beal on a trade should the team decide to rebuild this summer, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania and Josh Robbins.

Title runner-ups the Miami Heat are expected to be high-profile suitors in the chase for Beal, Charania and Robbins add.

Beal is about to enter the second season of a five-year, $251-million contract that he signed last offseason. The deal includes a no-trade clause.

The guard has spent his entire 11-year NBA career in Washington after being selected with the No. 3 pick in 2012. The Wizards have failed to advance past the first round of the playoffs over the last six seasons.

The former All-NBA honoree averaged 23.2 points per game on career-best 50.6% shooting from the field for a 12th-place Wizards squad last season.

Washington may be headed for a roster retool this summer with third-leading scorer Kyle Kuzma set to decline his player option and become an unrestricted free agent, and second-leading scorer Kristaps Porzingis a candidate to do the same.

Should both walk, the highest-scoring returning Wizards player outside of Beal would be Corey Kispert and his 11.1 points per game.
