Conor McGregor says Miami Heat mascot Burnie is doing well after getting knocked to the ground by the UFC star during Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

"The mascot's good," McGregor told TMZ Sports on Tuesday. "It was a skit and, you know, went the way it went and all is well ... I spent a lot of time with him afterward. We talked it out and everything was great. It was a skit, it was part of the show."

McGregor took part in a halftime boxing match with Burnie in the third quarter of the Heat's loss to the Denver Nuggets on Friday as part of a promotion for his new pain relief spray. McGregor sent Burnie to the floor and then landed another punch on the mascot before spraying the product on him.

The man in the mascot costume was reportedly taken to the emergency room after the skit and given pain medication.

The Heat's season came to an end Monday night as they fell to the Nuggets in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
