Koepka: Winning 10 majors not 'out of the question'

Brooks Koepka already has five major titles under his belt at the age of 33, but the American isn't underestimating his ability to win five more.

"Double digits, that's what I'm trying to get to," Koepka told the media Tuesday, including Golf Channel's Brentley Romine. "I don't think it's out of the question for me."

Only three golfers have ever won 10 or more major titles: Walter Hagen (11), Tiger Woods (15), and Jack Nicklaus (18).

Koepka became the 20th golfer to win five or more majors in men's golf history after taking the PGA Championship by two strokes in May.

That victory marked Koepka's third PGA Championship title, and he's similarly eyeing his third U.S. Open title this week.

"The more chaotic things get, the easier it gets for me," he said. "Everything starts to slow down, and I am able to focus on whatever I need to focus on while everybody else is dealing with distractions, worried about other things."

There's certainly plenty of chaos to go around in the aftermath of the PGA TOUR's recent merger with the Saudi Public Investment Fund, but the LIV Golf star expressed that he's solely focused on winning at Los Angeles Country Club.

"I'm not going to go into the future. I don't have a crystal ball with me," Koepka said. "I'm just worried about the U.S. Open. If I can get to No. 6 pretty quick, that would be nice."

Koepka won the U.S. Open in 2017 and 2018.
