Yuki Tsunoda: Crash in Baku Practice

Tsunoda would lose control of his AlphaTauri machine and hit the turn barriers in FP1 practice ahead of Friday's pole qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Formula1.com reports.

Analysis:

Tsunoda would turn just a handful of laps in this opening practice and manage a best lap of 1:44.137 before he'd lose control of his car. He'd hit the turn 3 wall barrier and destroy his right rear tyre. Tsunoda would limp his car back to the pit area and the team would make repairs and fit Tsunoda out with a new set of tyres. The damage didn't appear to be anything that would impact Tsunoda's qualifying effort which will happen later Friday.
