Baltimore ice cream shop creates 'Pay Lamar' flavor to support QB
The contract drama between Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens has inspired a local ice cream shop to create a new flavor in the quarterback's honor.
On Friday, Baltimore-based The Charmery released a new flavor called "Pay Lamar" featuring peanut butter and caramel ice cream with roasted peanuts and chocolate chips.
"I don't proclaim to know the inside workings of the business," the shop's owner, David Alima, told Jamison Hensley of ESPN. "All I know is that Lamar is worth every single penny that he feels he's deserved. That's why I want to pay him."
The Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson on Tuesday after the two sides were unable to reach a deal on a long-term contract. Jackson can begin negotiating with other teams on March 15, but the Ravens can match any offer.
In 12 games last season, Jackson threw for 2,242 yards with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions while also rushing for 764 yards and another three scores.
