Chris Paul is officially a college graduate.

After helping the Phoenix Suns defeat the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night, Paul made the trip to North Carolina on Friday to attend his graduation ceremony at Winston-Salem State University. The 37-year-old graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication.

Paul attended Wake Forest University for two years before entering the 2005 NBA Draft, where the then-New Orleans Hornets selected him fourth overall. He enrolled at Winston-Salem State, a historically Black public university, in 2020 to finish his degree.

"Man it's cool, I'm excited," Paul said of his graduation following Thursday's game. "Long time coming."

Not only did Paul receive his diploma on Friday, but he also gifted each of his fellow graduates $2,500 as a special surprise, according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN and Andscape.
