Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is set to return Sunday against the Detroit Lions after being omitted from the team's Friday injury report.

Prescott missed the last five games due to a thumb injury, with Cooper Rush leading Dallas to four wins in his absence.

The 29-year-old suffered the injury in the Cowboys' Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"Practice obviously helps, just getting the speed of everything," Prescott said Thursday when asked how he is preparing to get ready for Sunday's game. "I feel like I put myself in a good spot, had a good practice today, and I'm just excited to get back out there."

Dallas' passing offense has struggled in Dak's absence, ranking 27th in passing yards per game. The defense has kept the Cowboys afloat, holding teams to only 16.3 points per contest this season.

Prescott will return against a Lions defense that is ranked last in yards allowed per game.
