Charles Barkley slams Knicks' roster: 'They're not close at all'
Charles Barkley isn't impressed by the current state of the New York Knicks' roster.
"They're not close. They're not close at all," the Hall of Famer and NBA on TNT analyst said Wednesday, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.
"They got a bunch of JAGs, as I call them: Just A Guy. They're not better than guys on Atlanta, Orlando. There's only probably three guys on that team that are NBA starters," Barkley added. "So the No. 1 thing they got to do is get some talent. They got a lack of talent right now, and it's really unfortunate because we need the Knicks to be competitive. And right now, they're not competitive."
The Knicks finished the 2021-22 season ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 37-45 record, failing to qualify for the play-in tournament. They own the 11th overall pick in this month's NBA draft.
