Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey recently received some words of advice from LeBron James as he prepares for the start of his NFL career.

Winfrey - who Klutch Sports Group represents, alongside James - revealed Friday that he spoke to the Los Angeles Lakers star before last month's draft.

"(James said) don't listen to the outside noise, just try to be the best version of myself every single day," Winfrey said, according to the Akron Beacon Journal's Nate Ulrich.

"(He talked about) enjoying the journey and falling in love with the grind, and everything that I want will come into play if I just put my head down and work."

Winfrey hopes to replicate the success James found with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 when he led them to their first NBA title.

"I'm trying to bring a championship to Cleveland just like (James) did," the former Oklahoma Sooner said.

Winfrey, the 108th overall pick of the draft, was a two-time Second Team All-Big 12 selection at Oklahoma and received the MVP award at the 2022 Senior Bowl.
