Tiger Woods is playing an 18-hole practice round Thursday at the site of this year's PGA Championship to prepare for a possible appearance in the mid-May tournament, according to Golf Channel's Todd Lewis.

The 15-time major champion will be walking all 18 holes at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He previously said the most difficult part of playing post-injury is walking the course.

Woods was injured in a car accident in February 2021 and made his highly anticipated return to an official PGA TOUR event at the Masters this April. His previous official TOUR event had been the 2020 Masters, held in November that year.

The 46-year-old opened his return to Augusta National with a 1-under 71 before finishing 47th at 13-over.

Following his final round, Woods said he planned to play in The Open in July but wasn't sure yet about the PGA Championship or U.S. Open.

Woods won the PGA Championship the last time it was hosted at Southern Hills, back in 2007.

The PGA Championship is set to be played May 19-22.
