Valtteri Bottas: Practice Spin

Bottas spun and beached his Alfa Romeo on his final lap in a wet opening practice for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Formula1.com reports.

Analysis:

Bottas looked good early-on in the session, but as track conditions slightly improved and lap times dropped he would fall back to 11th-fastest by the end of the hour-long session. Bottas would overshoot a tight corner in the closing seconds of the practice and beach his Alfa Romeo in the gravel trap, making slight contact with the outside wall. However, it appeared only minor damage occurred to the nose of his machine. Bottas will look to shake this incident off and focus on Friday's later qualifying session.
