A new record has been set for Kobe Bryant trading cards.
PWCC Marketplace announced that it recently sold a 1997-98 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems Emerald card for $2 million, making it the most expensive Bryant card sale to date.

Beckett Grading Services graded the card an 8.5 - the highest known grade for this particular card. It's one of only 10 in existence, according to Jeff Owens of Sports Collectors Digest.
"This is arguably Kobe's best card in existence," PWCC's director of business development Jesse Craig told Owens. "It's more desirable than even a Kobe Bryant rookie card or a Kobe Bryant autograph."
The $2-million price tag puts this Bryant card among the most expensive basketball cards of all time. The No. 1 spot currently belongs to a 2003-04 LeBron James rookie card that sold last year for $5.2 million.
