Detroit-area stores are rallying around former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams ahead of Super Bowl LVI.

C&O Sportswear in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, is selling "Detroit Rams" shirts featuring a mashup of the Lions' and Rams' logos along with Stafford's jersey number.

Similar-looking shirts are also on sale at another sportswear store.

Stafford spent 12 years with the Lions before being traded to the Rams prior to this season. The Lions organization and its fans remain close to his heart heading into Sunday's Super Bowl.

"I think we all are playing for not only the guys in this locker room, but those who helped us get to this position," Stafford said Monday, according to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com. "There's so many people in Detroit, important people in my life, that have helped me get here.

"The Ford family was unbelievable in giving me the opportunity to even come into this league and play this game that I love. They supported me and pushed me for years there - still in contact with them, and appreciate them so much, as I do with so many teammates that I played with, both guys that are still playing and guys that have retired."

Stafford continued: "I do appreciate, so much, just everybody's support, and I know that when I'm out there playing, whether it's this week in the Super Bowl or any other game, I'm a representation of those experiences that I've had with those people. I feel like every time I step out there on the field, I'm playing for not really myself, but for everybody that's helped get me there."
