Israel Adesanya isn't going anywhere.

The UFC middleweight champion inked a new multi-fight contract with the promotion just days before his title defense against Robert Whittaker, his management announced Wednesday.

The terms of the deal weren't disclosed. The contract was finalized last week after "several months of negotiations."

The deal will make Adesanya "one of the top paid athletes in the history of mixed martial arts," according to his management.

"We are very happy with the terms of Israel's new promotional agreement with UFC," Adesanya's manager, Tim Simpson, said in a release. "Israel truly deserves to be in the position that he is in, and we look forward to several more prosperous years with the UFC."

Adesanya reportedly had two fights left on his old contract before re-upping with the UFC.

"The Last Stylebender" headlines UFC 271 on Saturday in Houston. He'll face Whittaker for the second time after knocking him out in 2019 to capture the title.
