Anthony Martial is leaving Manchester United to join Sevilla on loan, sources told Rodrigo Faez of ESPN.

The two clubs struck a deal Monday, with the Spanish side agreeing to pay the French attacker's full salary until June, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Martial's move away from Old Trafford has seemed imminent since December, when his agent said the 26-year-old was eager to join a new club in search of more playing time. A public dispute with Ralf Rangnick followed; the interim manager said Martial refused to be part of the squad to face Aston Villa earlier in January, which the Frenchman swiftly denied on social media.

The pair appeared to smooth things over, though, and Martial made his first appearance under Rangnick on Saturday, coming off the bench and playing a key role in Marcus Rashford's late winner against West Ham United.

His introduction in the second half was booed by some at Old Trafford.

Martial, who was the most expensive teen signing in world football when he joined the Red Devils from Monaco in 2015, has seen his influence and opportunities at the club wane significantly in recent years. He's played just 210 Premier League minutes this season, scoring one goal.

He'll join a Sevilla team that sits second in La Liga, just four points adrift of leaders Real Madrid.

The Andalusian club is firmly in the title race despite struggling to find the net consistently, recording just 34 league goals through 22 matches. That's the lowest tally of any team in the top four, and Sevilla's 25.4 expected goals is 11th in Spain's top flight.
