Report: Mayweather, Pacquiao planning charity basketball game
Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao appear set to square off again - this time on the basketball court.
A letter of intent recently signed by the two retired boxers reveals plans for a charity basketball game in Las Vegas in December, according to Dino Maragay of Philstar.com.
"We agree on the main concept of the event, which is to bring total entertainment to the fans of boxing, basketball, and all sports in general, and to create a project that will solidify our legacies to the fans. ... We also aim to generate funds for our chosen charities in time for Christmas," the letter reads.
The letter also mentions the creation of "working groups" to finalize the event.
As part of the proposal, Mayweather, 44, and Pacquiao, 42, will each assemble a 10-player roster featuring two former NBAers, according to Maragay. The MGM Grand - the site of their 2015 match - is reportedly being considered as the venue.
