Melo: 'I ain't playing to no 50' like Brady
Carmelo Anthony isn't thinking about retirement, but he does see a limit to how long he'll be playing in the NBA.
When asked Friday about Tom Brady's recent claim that he could still play in the NFL at 50 years old, the 37-year-old Anthony acknowledged that kind of longevity would be difficult for him.
"Brady's got an offensive line. They're going to protect Brady, man," Anthony said. "I don't want to do that. I ain't playing to no 50, I'll tell you that."
Anthony, who's entering his 19th NBA season and first with the Los Angeles Lakers, told reporters that knowing when it's time to walk away from the game isn't something he can "predetermine."
"My body's gonna tell me when to go. So as long as I continue staying on top of that and doing what I gotta do to get out there and play, I'm cool," he said.
"I'm actually in a great situation, man. I feel good, my body feels good, my game is still there, I'm with a great group of guys, and so I'm in a great space."
