Nunes-Pena title fight rebooked for UFC 269
Amanda Nunes will defend her bantamweight title against Julianna Pena at UFC 269 on Dec. 11, the UFC announced Monday.
The two-division champion was originally slated to face Pena at UFC 265 in early August but was forced to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19.
Nunes, who also holds the featherweight belt, will be making the first defense of her 135-pound title since 2019.
The 33-year-old beat Felicia Spencer via unanimous decision in June 2020 before earning a first-round submission win over Megan Anderson in March.
Widely regarded as the greatest female fighter in UFC history, Nunes is riding a 12-fight winning streak.
Meanwhile, Pena is 2-2 in her last four fights. She most recently beat Sara McMann via third-round submission in January and later called for her first shot at UFC gold.
The location for UFC 269 hasn't been announced. Former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will make his flyweight debut against Kai Kara-France as part of the card.
