Aaron Gordon made his debut with the Denver Nuggets on Sunday wearing a new jersey number, switching from No. 00 to No. 50.

According to Altitude TV's Katy Winge, Gordon chose No. 50 in part because of its connection to his NBA Slam Dunk contest appearances and the fact he never won.

Gordon was the runner-up to Zach LaVine in the 2016 dunk contest and lost to Derrick Jones Jr. by one point in 2020 - a decision that came with plenty of controversy. Gordon has since said he will no longer compete in the contest.

The 25-year-old finished with 13 points in his first game with the Nuggets as Denver defeated the Atlanta Hawks 126-102.
