Syndergaard feuds with Bauer over botched free-agent announcement
There's a new feud brewing in Major League Baseball between New York Mets right-hander Noah Syndergaard and new Los Angeles Dodgers hurler Trevor Bauer.
It all started Friday evening when Syndergaard took a thinly veiled shot at Bauer using two photos taken during the early days of spring training:
Syndergaard is alluding to the fact that Bauer botched his free-agent announcement, accidentally posting an article on his website indicating he had signed with the Mets. Hours later, it was announced that Bauer had signed with the Dodgers.
To make up for the gaffe, Bauer apologized and said he'd donate $10,000 to select New York charities.
Bauer, who is no stranger to online barbs with fellow players, quickly clapped back:
The exchange didn't end there, as Syndergaard told Bauer - who's been openly combative with fans on Twitter numerous times - to "keep digging" while Bauer responded, "See you at the bottom."
The Mets face the Dodgers seven times in August, including a three-game series Aug. 13-15 at Citi Field and a four-game set Aug. 19-22 at Dodger Stadium.
