Towns says he was hit by drunk driver during offseason

Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns divulged Thursday on Instagram that he was hospitalized this past offseason after being hit by a drunk driver in Los Angeles.
The 25-year-old shed no further details on the incident but credited his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, for staying with him in hospital and helping him with rehab.
Towns has had a difficult year, losing his mother and six other family members to COVID-19. The two-time All-Star himself is currently sidelined after testing positive earlier this month.
