Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley has been sentenced to 120 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse following his guilty plea to threats of violence relating to an incident in September, his attorney told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Beasley's sentence includes work release and a home confinement option. The 24-year-old will begin serving his sentence following the conclusion of the 2020-21 season.

When Beasley's sentence and probation are completed, his threats of violence charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor. Beasley previously had felony drug charges stemming from the same incident dismissed.

"We are very pleased with this outcome that will allow Malik to continue working on becoming a better person and making better choices," Beasley's attorney, Steve Haney, said in a statement to Charania.

Now that sentencing has been issued, the NBA can determine whether any additional punishment - including a potential suspension - will be warranted, according to The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski.

Beasley is averaging a career-high 20.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 24 starts for Minnesota. He's in the first season of a four-year, $60-million contract he signed with the Timberwolves this past offseason.
